The Full Story

Chicago, IL August 22, 2021 – The Gospel Industry Network PSALMS 1 (G.I.N.) celebrated its 1st Summit with a focus on bridging the gap with integrity and accountability between the church and the community, organizations, businesses and the Gospel Music Industry.  Hosted by the Chicago Music Industry Professionals under the leadership of Willie Jones and The Gospel Industry Network, under the leadership of Bishop Kenneth Wells and taking place at Christ Unity Evangelistic Church on Chicago’s South Side, this year’s Summit and Showcase delivered an electric mix of Gospel Legends, Hip Hop, Quartets, new and upcoming contemporary artists, and chart topping choirs who are still letting the world know it’s all about the good news of Jesus Christ.

Some of this year’s special guests included Mary Glover, San Franklin, Josh Bracy and Power Anointed, New Direction Alumni Choir (Chicago), Lemmie Battle, God’s Posse, Shervonne Wells, Diane Williams, Michael Boykin, Tyscot Records President Bryant Scott, Sydney Scott, Johnnie Sanders and many more.

The three day weekend of activities also included classes and panel discussions with rich information that covered everything from Terrestrial Radio, Internet Radio, Hip-Hop, Quartet, Independent Artists, How to Survive in the Music Industry and a planning session for the G.I.N. 2022 Summer Convention set to take place in sunny state of Florida.

One of this year’s featured segments included GIN and Juice,  a sit down conversation with four industry music executives and radio personalities that discussed industry and integrity issues.

This year’s highlight included four honorees being inducted into the Gospel Industry Network’s Hall of Fame.  The 2021 Inductees included Robert M. Marovich (Journal of Gospel Music), Willie Rogers (Soul Stirrers), Jeral Gray (New Direction) and Dr. Joyce Logan (Gospel International).  The G.I.N., Executive Vice President Tammy Taylor also received the Trail Blazer Award.

Congratulations to all!
